About Lelarge-Pugeot
Grape growers since 1799 and a grower-producer (récoltant-manipulant or RM) since 1935, the wines are a product of the unique sandy/clay terroir of the premier cru village of Vrigny. Certified organic (Ecocert) and biodynamic (Demeter since 2017), all the work is done by hand. Minimal manipulation in the cellar and fermentation is carried out by indigenous yeast. Wines are aged on the lees for 6 months in oak barrels, foudres and stainless steel. Bottle ageing for a minimum of 30 months. The wines are vivacious and elegant, with a lovely depth, contributable to the large amount of Pinot Meunier. They are first-class growers of champagne and represent extremely good value.
