Failla (Ehren Jordan), 2020 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay

Native yeasts, full malo, 5% skin-fermented, unfined and unfiltered. Ageing in concrete egg (30%), new French oak (10%), foudre (30%),  and neutral puncheon (30%). The vineyards represented in this bottling are a stellar depiction of quality farming, mature vines and the distinct terroir of cool climates that are graced with the sunshine Chardonnay craves. Roughly 80% of the grapes used in this bottling are estate grown and biodynamically farmed. The 2020 vintage was a tough one. We are blessed to have picked most of our home ranches and a few other vineyards before the fires. The wines we did make are beautiful and we share them with pride. "With its spine of sappy brightness and crystalline salinity, this wine displays all the dense, bright and savoury appeal of the Sonoma Coast. At once textural and filigreed, this is a laser-focused expression showing citrus, coastal bay and textural depth to carry the mid-palate to a refreshing finish".
